Examination Now Available in Puerto Rico
8/17/2005
In July 2005, the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) offered qualified health care professionals in Puerto Rico the chance to take the certification exam locally through a web-based format.
The NAECB Exam is a voluntary testing program used to assess qualified health professionals knowledge in asthma education. It is an evaluative process that demonstrates that rigorous education and experience requirements have been met. With the quality of asthma management education ranging from excellent to non-existent across the country, a gold standard to promote quality asthma management through the certification process is vital. The NAECB is excited about offering the exam in Puerto Rico and providing the opportunity for qualified asthma educators to join this elite group of Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C®). We look forward to the future and the possibilities!
Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C®) are licensed healthcare professionals or individuals with 1,000 hours of asthma education experience who have successfully passed the National Asthma Educator Certification Examination given by the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB).
Certification is voluntary and is not required by law for employment in the field, although some agencies may use AE-C® certification as a basis for employment, job promotions, salary increases, or other considerations. The fee for the examination is $275 and the exam is offered in English only. Complete information and enrollment is available at http://www.naecb.org.
¡Buena Suerte!
